Hitting enter twice as some have suggested does nothing. I was trying to communicate with a hauwei switch in console port and used rj45 and rs232. Is their something I need to turn on in win 10 to get this to work? Or, is there something else I could use other then putty. When I launch putty I get a black screen and it doesn’t respond to any keyboard input. When I go into the device manager, I see that it uses COM5, so I'm trying to connect to that with putty. Now I'm on windows 10 and when I use the serial connection with putty, I just get a blank black screen. The USB end is connected to my laptop and the serial female is connected to the console port. If the cursor stops moving, it jumps back to the top, but I cannot enter any commands.
